I make it a habit to nap for 20 minutes everyday. Sometimes, I nap twice everyday. 😱
Some may think two naps a day is lazy, but my precious nap-time is how I’m able to keep up with work, school, kids and the multitude of other things that are always awaiting my attention.
I nap shamelessly. No guilt. No blasting myself with all the things I should be doing. Because sleeping, when I’m beat, is a should.
My health has become one of my top priorities. I know when I push too hard, I exhaust myself and then I’m useless. Mentally. Physically. Emotionally.
And no one wants to deal with me in that state. Most of all, me.
Put yourself first. Carve out 20 minutes everyday to do something that brings you sanity in this crazy world. And if the 20 mins spreads to an hour and you come out refreshed and energized, then it was worth the time spent. Read your book. Take a nap. Watch the sunset. Just sit back and breathe.
Make yourself a priority and you might be surprised at how your life (mood, health, behavior) changes. 💛
